I had a fantastic experience from the minute I walked in, reception staff friendly and welcoming and Nigel and his nurse put me at ease, clearly explained each step and did a fantastic job. Highly recommend this practice.
Terrible Dentist practise, appalling 'bedside manner', that left me feeling very uncomfortable.I'm HIV+ (of which i advised at time of registration)On my 2nd and final visit i was asked by the receptionist when wishing to 'update their records'...........'Are you still HIV+'?As you can imagine i was staggered to say the least at such an insensitive and frankly stupid question!I have since registered with an excellent private Dentist, and the contrast between the service is day & night.My biggest concern however is Nigel Newton's misdiagnosis of treatment required.Having been told i would need a crown on a tooth i set out to get a 2nd opinion from two other Dentist practises, both of which advised that a crown was totally unnecessary and more so, would not actually address the issue with the tooth itself!Quite shocking to be told that a proposed treatment that would have cost hundreds of pounds was actually not required.I'm sure you can draw your own conclusions as to why Nigel Newton advised such treatment!!!My only recommendation regarding this practise is to stay away!!!!UPDATE: My Google Address Is Daniel Stone, My Real Surname Is Daniel Hughes.I WAS A genuine Patient at Nigel Newton's Practise!!!!
I visited this dentist after I had severe toothache and not got round to registering with a dentist in my area. The lady with the blond bob (sorry I didn't get your name) was absolutely lovely to me. I was very doped up on strong painkillers and didn't want to speak because it made the pain worse so I must have seemed quite rude but she was so kind and even reassured me I'd be out of pain very soon. So so happy I've now registered at this dentist.
I went to see Nigel Newton very recently. First of all the receptionist and dental nurse were really nice. And they fitted me in quickly. However, I didnt really rate Mr Newtons bedside manner. I found him quite cold and unfriendly, and for my first visit, where dentists are normally warm and welcoming he definitely failed. I also thought the prices were a bit hit and miss, for example, the X-ray was priced just for one side, yet, normally Ive had a price for the whole, so I felt that was a bit deceptive.
My partner visited this practise yesterday and was told an extraction was 55, upon being told that he booked an appointment for later that day. After initial assessment he was told he needed a treatment plan which exceeded 1000, after myself questioning this I said we weren't happy paying that in one go and we would pay for what will be done today. X-ray, extraction. After being told the original price before booking it should of been about 100 but instead he was charged 257. This was the cost of a private patient but whilst I was talking to the receptionist (who is lovely may I add) she told me they only do private patients on a Saturday, I feel the practise is very misleading and make you feel like you can't question anything as your put on the spot. Will not be visiting here again and will be 're registering at another dental practise. They were very pushing in trying to get us to part with 1000 for on going treatment, and after that failed they said they could cut to cost by 50% and the remainder would be payable on his next visit. After declining this my partner said he felt Nigel made him feel uncomfortable and was very abrupt, personally I think because we wouldn't part with this money.
